When you lose enthusiasm for your job, sometimes that means you’re bored and it’s time to look for something new.

“Maybe it’s the job. We see that a lot in this economy,” said Brandon Smith, a workplace consultant and career coach. “There’s been a lot less movement. People are not getting promoted as quickly, so they’re in the same job for a lot longer period of time.”

Your job boredom or frustrations could also be fixable.

“The first step is to really assess the situation: why are you not feeling that spark anymore?” Smith says.

He explains how figure that out and then how to reclaim the spark on this week’s Working on GPB Radio.
