There are some special elections this week in Georgia to replace candidates who left office before their term expired.

In Georgia’s 9th Congressional Distrcit 8 candidates are vying for the seat left vacant when Representative Nathan Deal decided to run for Governor. That Northwest Georgia race drew 2 state lawmakers. Representative Tom Graves and Senator Lee Hawkins. Both of their seats now have to be filled as well in Tuesday’s election.

And in Atlanta Democratic State Senator David Adelman became U.S. Ambassador to Singapore.

That race drew Former President Jimmy Carter’s Grandson Jason Carter. He faces fellow Democrat Tom Stubbs and Libertarian David Montane.
