Residents in Thomasville plan to line the route of a funeral procession for a 25-year-old Army soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Army Specialist Shannon Chihuahua of Thomasville was killed November 12th in Konar province when insurgents attacked his unit with small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Thomasville. The soldier will be buried at the Bethany Unity Methodist Church cemetery in Pelham.

Local residents are planning to line the route with people carrying flags.
