It’s only a few weeks into the new high school football season, but for some of the state’s top talent, the pressure’s building. Many standout players have already made their commitments to a college program, but some have not.

For those who haven’t, there can be overwhelming distractions.

For a look inside what it’s like for a top player being recruited by major college programs, GPB's Edgar Treiguts spoke to Chad Simmons, a national recruiting analyst for Scout.com.

Simmons tells GPB about Lowndes County High, which is used to getting the attention of college recruiters at games. That's the case again this fall with a standout senior player, Josh Harvey Clemons. The Valdosta school’s football team is coached by Randy McPherson.
