The University of Georgia is reviewing how people are monitored in its athletic facilities as other universities deal with child sex abuse scandals.

UGA President Michael Adams said Thursday the review includes the school's processes regarding how people get in and out of athletic facilities on the campus.

Adams said he hasn't heard of any allegations of abuse in the UGA athletic department like the ones that have rocked Penn State and Syracuse universities.

Adams made the comments during a periodic media briefing, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

At Penn State, former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has been charged with sexual abuse of eight boys over a 15-year period. At Syracuse, authorities are investigating claims of sexual abuse within the athletic department.
