A South Korea-based parts supplier will set up a manufacturing facility in LaGrange that will create 100 new jobs over three years.

Gov. Nathan Deal on Friday said Daewon America will invest $14 million to expand an existing facility in LaGrange that would supply the nearby Kia auto plant.

He said KIA suppliers have created a "trickle-down effect" that has helped spur job creation in west Georgia.

Daewon America is a subsidiary of Daewon Kangup. It manufactures coil springs, engine valve springs, suspension bars and seat springs for auto companies. The company is a direct supplier to Kia and Hyundai.
