A tire distributor that has operated in the northwest Georgia city of Rome for two decades is moving to a larger facility in metro Atlanta.

American Tire Distributors plans to move to the new 100,000-square-foot facility in Kennesaw. Ron Sinclair, senior vice president for marketing, said the move is expected to take place in early August.

Officials said all of the employees have been offered the opportunity to stay on with the company after the move.

The company is a wholesaler of tire products to retailers across the region.

American Tire moved more than 200,000 tires to retailers from as far away as Dunlap, Tenn., to Anniston, Ala., from the Rome distribution center last year.
