Most of Georgia’s metro areas saw slight drops in their unemployment rates in February.

Still, even with the decreases, more than half of Georgia’s counties have rates of 10 percent or higher. Most of those are in rural areas.

The state Department of Labor reported the Dalton metro area continues to have the highest jobless rate at 12.3 percent, while metro Athens is lowest at 7 percent.

Statewide, February’s unemployment rate was 9.1 percent.
