Sunday sales of alcohol won't be allowed in Douglasville any time soon.

CBS Atlanta reports that the city's mayor on Monday vetoed a measure that would have put Sunday sales on the November ballot.

The mayor also vetoed a bill that would have let bars serve alcohol later on Saturday nights.

The Douglasville City Council could override the veto at its meeting next week.

More than 100 Georgia communities voted on Sunday alcohol sales last year, after state lawmakers and the governor agreed to let local jurisdictions decide the issue.
