State Board Hears Election Complaints
Primary Content
The State Board of Elections is holding a special meeting Thursday to address complaints about how Fulton County officials handled the November election.
Hundreds people who thought they had registered did not show up on Fulton County’s rolls on election day in November. So poll workers had them cast a provisional ballot. Some precincts had so many provisional voters that they ran out of those ballots, causing long waits.
The state board has a variety of options, should they rule against Fulton County officials. They range from a slap on the wrist, to referring the matter to the state Attorney General for possible criminal prosecutions.
