Authorities say students in one Georgia county will get an unexpected three-day weekend due to water problems in their schools.

Twiggs County schools are closed Friday.

The school system says the closure was prompted by a local water issue.

The Macon newspaper reports that the school system ordered the closure as a precaution because problems with the city water system could affect the schools' ability to flush toilets, wash hands and prepare meals for the students.
