Two Atlanta Hawks players say they will contest charges they blocked officers from setting up a crime scene following the stabbing of a fellow NBA player.
Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha were arrested early Wednesday outside the club 1Oak in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. Police say they tried to stop officers after Indiana Pacers player Chris Copeland was stabbed.
In a joint state, Antic and Sefolosha say they look forward to communicating the facts of the situation when the time comes. The players' attorney Alex Spiro says his clients committed no crime.
A 22-year-old suspect is accused of stabbing Copeland, his girlfriend and another woman after a fight. He is in custody.
Police say the three victims were hospitalized in stable condition. Police also said one victim was Copeland's wife, but his agent later clarified they are not yet married.
