Today thousands mourned at the funeral of boxing champion Vernon Forrest.

Notable attendees at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia included boxers Evander Holyfiend, Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley.

The 38-year-old Forrest grew up in Augusta.

He was shot to death in Atlanta last weekend during a robbery at a gas station.
