Station Wins Second Overall Excellence Award and A Total of 18 Honors
GPB was the big winner at the 2015 Southeast Emmy Awards, taking home the award for Overall Excellence at the ceremony held Saturday, June 6 in Atlanta. It marked GPB’s second win in the category, adjudicated by peers nationally, bringing the total number of wins to 18 awards this year.
The Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is one of nineteen regional chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This year, the award nominees for Overall Excellence were judged nationally.
“I’m extremely proud of GPB’s win for Overall Excellence, and the many other honors,” said GPB President and Executive Director Teya Ryan. “It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized nationally by our peers and represent the power and uniqueness of what public media offers. It’s a joy to work with all of our talented nominees, and I think the breadth of the programs and services we offer are well represented by the winners.”
