The wife of McDonough’s police chief has been fired from her city clerk job after admitting she stole city money.

McDonough officials say Callie Dorsey was fired from her municipal clerk position last week. She had held the job for five years.

No charges have been filed in the case, which is still under investigation. The amount stolen was not revealed.

Callie Dorsey is married to McDonough police chief Preston Dorsey, who remains on duty. Officials say he only learned of the situation last week from the Henry County district attorney. He is not involved in the investigation.

McDonough is about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta.
