Plans for the development, called 725 Ponce, include more than 400,000 square feet of office and retail space and a redesigned Kroger store.

The origins of the moniker 'Murder Kroger' are murky, but the store's parking lot has been the location of two murders over the years, most recently in March 2015.

725 Ponce will sit just across the Atlanta BeltLine from Ponce City Market, the old Sears and Roebuck building that's recently seen new life as a mixed-use development.

The project is scheduled to break ground in 2016 and to open in 2018.
