A federal judge has ruled that Atlanta's mass transit system had the right to stop a Georgia man who was seen carrying a gun at a train station.

The judge ruled the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority officers had probable cause to stop Christopher Raissi after he tried to use the system while carrying a firearm.

Raissi is a member of GeorgiaCarry.org, a gun rights group that filed the legal challenge.

Raissi was testing a state law that went into effect last year that allows people with gun permits to carry guns on public transportation. The law has sparked several lawsuits.

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to allow gun owners to carry weapons in parts of the world's busiest airport.
