About 125 soldiers are back at Fort Benning near Columbus after a yearlong deployment to Iraq. They are assigned to the 14th Combat Support Hospital unit.

Since last July, they have been conducting health support operations at several internment facilities, caring for detainees and coalition forces. In 2006, the 14th was in Afghanistan treating U.S. and coalition force soldiers and Afghan civilians.

In 2005, the unit deployed to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and provided medical support for six weeks.
