The Supreme Court of Georgia has again delayed the execution of a prisoner convicted of three 1998 slayings who
attempted suicide hours before he was initially set to be put to death.

Brandon Joseph Rhode, 31, already had his execution delayed twice after his suicide attempt. It was first pushed back until Friday at 9 a.m. and then delayed again until Friday at 7 p.m. so courts could deal with pending litigation.

Friday, the court granted a stay until Monday, at 4 p.m.

Rhode was sentenced to die in 2000 for the killings of Steven Moss, 37, his 11-year-old son Bryan and 15-year-old daughter Kristin during the burglary of their Jones County home.

Defense attorney Brian Kammer had asked the Supreme Court for more time to determine whether Rhode is competent to be executed.
