Valdosta's 'South Georgia Pride Day'

The city of Valdosta proclaims September 17, 2011 as South Georgia Pride Day.
It’s an effort to take a stand against bullying and hate crimes.
Mayor John Fretti alongside the South Georgia Pride Committee acknowledges that both gay and transgender people are a part of the community.
The pride committee is working to educate the community on tolerance and the prevention of HIV /AIDS.
