Hightower Wins District 68
Primary Content

While attention focused on the Iowa caucuses last night, there was a Georgia election, too. And the winner here was Dustin Hightower, who will take his seat in the Georgia House as the District 68 representative.
He won more than 55 percent of the vote in a special election runoff for the district that covers Carroll and Douglas counties, defeating Alan Martinez.
Hightower fills the remaining year of the current term. Tim Bearden vacated the seat after Governor Nathan Deal appointed him director of the Georgia Law Enforcement Training Center.
