UGA is offering a way to re get rid of your hard to recycle objects as part the university’s Earth Week celebration.

The event, called a Recycling Happy Hour, is set for April 23 at the UGA intramural field parking lot.

You can drop off things like batteries, fluorescent bulbs, cooking grease, TV’s, computers, phones and cables.

UGA says that 1,678 pounds of electronics were recycled last year. Some useful computer-related items were refurbished and donated to members of the Athens community.

The event is sponsored by UGA's office of sustainability, the Athens-Clarke County Recycling Division, UGA parking services, Coca-ColA, and WUGA radio, which is part of GPB's public radio network.
