The British film studio home to the James Bond franchise and other major movie productions is announcing plans for its first U.S. movie production facility.

Ivan Dunleavy is the CEO of Pinewood Shepperton PLC. He made the announcement Monday, saying the "agreement is another step forward for the Pinewood brand internationally."

The large-scale film complex, Pinewood Atlanta, will be located at a site south of the city. Pinewood will manage it under an agreement with a group of private investors.

It will sit on 288 acres and include at least five soundstages as well as production offices.

Recent films shot at Pinewood Studios, outside of London, include the upcoming Angelina Jolie film, "Maleficent." Pinewood earlier this month announced a joint venture agreement with one of China's leading private media groups.
