Macon DJ Roger Riddle and Y-O Latimore of Poetic Peace Arts join us to talk about fun things to do in Middle Georgia over the weekend and beyond.

Y-O's picks for Sept. 26:

Twang Southern Tastes & Sounds, 342 Rose Avenue in Payne City, opens 7 days a week serving signature dishes like deep fried mac and cheese, homemade pork rinds, messed up collard green dip and fish wrapper tacos. You can check out their full menu at TwangMacon.com.

On the weekends they have free live bands for their patrons. Saturday, Stoopgrass, a young and vibrant band featuring Matt Moncrief, a singer, songwriter and musician and Travis Bryant on guitar.

Now, Bar 41 414 Cherry Street is a new daiquiri bar downtown on the corner of Cherry and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Flashback Friday with AJ the DJ goes down this Friday.

Toast & Taste @ The Hay House

The locavore movement has it's hooks in America and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The idea started with food, buy your food from local farmers, and enjoy the taste of fresh food grown close to home while the dollars spent stay in the community. Now the movement has grown to include all things local, food, drinks, and everything else.

The Hay House is also getting in on the movement by expanding their favorite event, the annual wine tasting to include regionally local, wine, beer, and spirits paired with food prepared by some of Macon's favorite chefs.

The event takes place tonight, September 26th at the Hay House at 6:30pm. There will be wine from north Georgia, beer brewed by Georgia breweries such as Sweetwater Brewing, and whiskey, vodka, and gin distilled by 13th Colony in Americus, Georgia.

Tickets are $40 and along with all the great food and drinks, there will be a silent auction with some really great prizes up for grabs like, private dinners from local chefs, vacations, art from local artists, and more. For more information call 478-742-8155.

Jack Hall tribute concert @ The Douglass Theatre

Being such a big fan of music, one thing I've learned is that musicians really look out for each other. So, it was no surprise that when Jack Hall, the bass player and one of the founding members of Wet Willie got diagnosed with cancer, his southern rock friends came running to the rescue. They put together a tribute show at the historic Douglass Theatre that would make any fan of southern rock shout bama-lama!

The list of performers reads like a who's who list of artists loved by Macon and middle Georgia, and southern rock fans world wide. There will be performaces by Wet Willie with Jimmy Hall, Bonnie Bramlett, Tommy Talton, Paul Hornsby, Tommy Crain's band, The Crosstown Allstars, and many many more.

This all happens on Friday September 27 at 8pm at The Douglass Theatre. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will be donated to help take care of Jack Hall's medical expenses. More info here.
