An actor from Macon will appear in the national production of the Book of Mormon.

The Tony award winning play by the creators of South Park pokes fun at Mormonism and the Church of Latter-day Saints.

23-year-old Grey Henson stars as Mormon leader Elder McKinley. During a recent holiday break from production Henson visited the GPB Macon studios to talk about his career. “I’m not the only one to have worked professionally in the theater from Macon, there’s a few people that are working on Broadway now from Macon, a few of which I went to high school with, it’s an exciting place to grow up.”

Henson cut his teeth in Theatre Macon's Youth Actors' Company.

The national tour of The Book of Mormon runs at Atlanta’s Fox Theater from January 28-February 9th.
