Being a Downton Abbey fan and the better half of the leader of the free world has its privileges. Blogs and news articles are buzzing about how First Lady Michelle Obama reportedly got advanced DVD copies of the third season because she just couldn’t wait for the U.S. premiere on January 6, 2013.

An insider from ITV1, the British network that produces and airs the series says tells the Sun: “We know it’s very popular in America as it’s so quintessentially British. We’d heard the Obamas liked to watch it but we were very surprised when someone from the First Lady’s office got in touch asking for the series.”

“They were very polite and we were more than happy to sort out some DVDs for them to send over."
