I’m hoping the worst is over and this Sunday’s episode of Downton is about a nice game of cricket and celebrating Bates’ freedom like the trailer below indicates. Alright I am being a bit facetious. I do enjoy the melodramas - Daisy torn between two footmen, Thomas being too touchy feely and the big huff over being in the company and eating the cooking of Ethel the former lady’s maid, ex-prostitute current maid for Mrs. Hughes.

It’s the bigger dramas this season that keep breaking my heart like Sybil’s sudden death and Edith suddenly being left at the altar. How much more earth shattering news can a viewer take?
