Join me for Tea and a Downton Abbey Inspired Chat in Newnan
Primary Content
Wouldn’t it be nice to talk about Downton Abbey with a bunch of like minds over a classy afternoon tea? You can do just that next week. Join me next Tuesday, November 19 at 1p.m. at the Newnan Carnegie Library for an amiable Downton inspired chat.
We will be talking about Love and the 1920s Woman, an appropriate topic to prepare us for the new season. Season four of Downton Abbey is set in the roaring twenties. Culture changed for women then. They were freer and more open in interacting with men.
They started going out on the modern version of a date. They had boyfriends.
We will discuss these cultural shifts in the context of the new season and new characters being introduced. Don’t worry I won’t give out any spoilers! But I will make sure you’ll have a great time.
As I mentioned, tempting teas and dainty treats will be served. And I will be handing out some door prizes to trivia question winners.
Tickets to the event, $20, are available at the Carnegie, 1 LaGrange St. at Newnan's Court Square. Seating is limited.
All proceeds benefit the library's adult programming. Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation, a 501(c)-3 charitable corporation supported by membership and sponsors, was founded in 2008 to fund and further enhance library programming, literacy and learning for all ages.
For further information and reservations contact the Carnegie at 770-683-1347 or visit www.newnanclf.com and NCLF's facebook page for updates.
The Carnegie is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
