Will Lady Mary marry Lord Gillingham? That is the burning question episode 3 of “Downton Abbey” season 5 left us hanging on. When Tom Branson asked her whether she would tie the knot, Lady Mary was uncharacteristically noncommittal. Apparently her tryst with the tall, dark and handsome Lord was not what it was cracked up to be.

If last week’s online watch party discussion is any indication, most fans think Lady Mary can do better than Tony Gillingham. In a poll launched during the chat asking whether Lady Mary should stay together with Gillingham or dump him, 92% of chat participants voted “no” that our merry widow should get rid of Gillingham as he’s a bore.
