“Downton Abbey”’s too short fifth season ends tonight. What can we expect? Tom Branson will likely make his talk of dashing off to America a reality. (Whip out the tissues now!) But unlike other Crawley family members who have left the show, he won’t be killed off.

Allen Leech, Branson’s portrayer, hints he’ll return as a guest. He may even show up in Julian Fellowes’ upcoming American drama about the early 20th century rich, “The Gilded Age.”

“Replace” is probably too strong of a word. But this photo Lesley Nicol tweeted of herself and Sir Anthony Hopkins outside of her dressing room sure has tongues wagging about whether he has an upcoming role in season 6. It would be great if he played her new love interest as Mrs. Patmore deserves a truly dashing and kind paramore in her life.

Lady Rose found that love in Atticus Aldridge last episode. We wonder if Lady Mary will find a true formidable partner this episode. A photo released to promote the finale, shows Mary in the arms of Henry Talbot (actor Matthew Goode) and we wondered in the chat room last week whether he would be “the guy”.
