Instead of passively receiving information, teach your students to analyze historical documents and become an investigator and synthesizer of information found in historical images.
The National Archives docsteach.org/tools offers seven free tools that educators can use to create interactive learning activities based on any primary source in the National Archives.
The Seven Tools Are:
- Finding a Sequence
- Focusing on Details
- Making Connections
- Mapping History
- Seeing the Big Picture
- Weighing the Evidence
- Interpreting Data
You can view activities that teachers have created and shared, or create your own activity. The site also has a blog and Facebook page to follow.
