During March, Women’s History Month, students tend to focus on well known female figures like Margaret Mitchell. Here’s a chance to teach your students about the not very well known Georgia women of achievement.

Great women like Nina Anderson Pape. She established the Pape school in Savannah, a college preparatory institution.

Conservationist Jane Hurt Yarn is another woman worth studying. She notably helped to protect the marshes and barrier reefs of Georgia.
