This Teacher Appreciation Weekvideo has been bouncing across the web this week. I thought I would share it too. It’s called: If I Knew Then: A Letter to Me on My First Day.

In the video, veteran teachers sit in a hallway and compose and share a letter to their younger teacher selves. It’s pretty poignant as the teachers reflect on the advice they got from friends and family when they first started with what they know now. They encourage themselves and admit to the real challenges they’ve faced.

Most memorably, despite the difficulties, they would not abandon teaching for anything.
