Sandy Springs based Airwatch received a $200 million boost from New York investors this week. The announcement comes on the heels of last month's $60 million investment, expected to help create 1000 technology related jobs. Airwatch says that 800 of the new jobs are expected to be based in metro Atlanta.
Airwatch has become a world leader in the fast-growing mobile device management field. The new policy of “Bring Your Own Device” is becoming rapidly accepted in the workplace. Employers realize considerable technology resource savings by allowing employees to use their own devices. However, this trend requires increased company management of the mobile devices being deployed.
The announcement by Airwatch came at the beginning of the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain. The $200 million investment is the single largest investment this year in an enterprise company.
