Cristo Rey

A new and unique Learn/Work High School is set to open in Atlanta for the fall of 2014.

The Cristo Rey School network has 6500 students in twenty-two cities across the United States. Unlike many private high schools, with tuition in excess of $10,000 a year, the Cristo Rey school tuition is around $1000 per year.

Wonder how this is possible?

Cristo Rey students go to school four days per week and work a full-day job once per week to help offset the costs of their education. The Catholic based schools serve a 95% minority population and boast an impressive 100% college placement rate. The combined focus on high level academics and real-life job training has made them especially attractive to parents. Cristo Rey schools typically have a waiting list of applicants to attend.

School officials also point out that Cristo Rey schools are among the most demanding academically in the nation. In fact, a recent report published in the Washington Post found five Cristo Rey school ranked among the most challenging academic schools in America.
