Beer Distributors Account for Over 3,100 Jobs in Georgia

A newly released report from researchers at the University of Delaware suggests that beer distributors directly employ 3,114 people in Georgia and account for $1.3 billion in economic impact.

Dr. Bill Lathem, one of the report authors, says beer distributors have long been undervalued for the economic impact they provide to local communities, “The beer distribution sector is a hidden gem that has been tremendously undervalued in previous economic reports. Fueling more than 345,000 direct and indirect jobs across the country, beer distributors add $54 billion to the nation's gross domestic product and offer far reaching benefits to brewers, importers, retailers, consumers and government agencies at all levels."
