Hankook Tire Company is considering Georgia as a location for a manufacturing plant in the U.S. It would be the company’s first U.S. plant.
According to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the South Korean-based Hankook is working with the Georgia Department of Economic Development to determine possible locations.
Georgia is currenlty a major tire producer state with companies including Cooper, Toyo, Pirelli, and Continental.
A Hankook manufacturing facility could bring another 500 jobs in the tire industry.
