The Savannah Roverfront is to be the Site of a Major New Development

North Point Hospitality Group has announced it will build a major hotel and retail center along the banks of the Savannah River.

According to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, North Point Hospitality Group Inc. is seeking approval to build a mixed-use development that includes a 470-room hotel, 42,000 square feet of retail/commercial space and a 500-car garage.

The plans were filed Monday with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, under its Developments of Regional Impact program.

The planned development site is to be located at 600 East Bay Street in the downtown river area.
