Development is Underway for Lakepoint Sports Complex Near Lake Allatoona

The massive LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center has finally broken ground on a development that is expected to be one of the largest sports-based facilities in the United States.

The location 40 miles north of Atlanta off of I-75 and Red Top Mountain Road will bring an anticipated 4 million visitors annually and creating more than 26,000 new jobs.

LakePoint bills itself as the largest comprehensive sports tournament destination in the world.

According to Neal Freeman, LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center partner and developer, the complex began with baseball, soccer and lacrosse but has expanded to include over 17 different sports hosted on site. It will also include housing and amenities for sporting teams and families such as restaurants, retail stores, a movie theater and other entertainment.
