Primary Content
Bloomfield Hills, MI-based PulteGroup is moving its national headquarters to Atlanta.
The Pulte board of directors voted Thursday to leave Michigan and is seeking office space in Atlanta to house an estimated 300 employees.
According to a report in the Detroit Free Press, PulteGroup is one of the country’s largest home builders with operations in nearly 60 metropolitan area markets in 28 states. Its three brands are Pulte Homes, Del Webb and Centex. In corporate filings, the company says it employed 3,634 people as of Dec. 31 and leases its headquarters office at 100 Bloomfield Hills Parkway.
Founder William Pulte got his start building homes at age 18, when he and five buddies from De La Salle High School in Michigan built a five-room bungalow near what is now Coleman A. Young International Airport in Detroit.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Pulte is the largest homebuilder in the U.S. based on revenue.
