Demand & Pay for Truck Drivers Rapidly Growing

The Georgia Department of Labor has announced it will host a job fair to help Mohawk Industries fill numerous open positions for truck drivers.
Applicants should apply Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm at the career center in Dalton, which is located at 1406 Chattanooga Ave.
Mohawk will conduct the interviews on Saturday, June 22, in Calhoun.
Applicants must be at least 25 years old, have a class A drivers license, and have at least one year’s experience driving a tractor trailer truck.
The need for truck drivers in Georgia is part of a national trend.
According to the bureau of labor statistics, the total number of Heavy Truck Driver positions on the job market are about 1,604,800 and the total market is expect to grow by about 21% which is faster than most careers.
Georgia has one of the highest demands for truck drivers, some 9% higher than the national average and with average starting pay of $42,000.
There are currently more than 30 schools in Georgia that train for truck driving. For information about becoming a truck driver click HERE
