Shaw Industries is Expanding with 500 Jobs in Bartow County

Shaw Industries has announced it will build a new $85 million manufacturing facility in Bartow County that is expected to create 500 new jobs.

The plant, which is expected to be between 600,000 and 700,000 square feet, will manufacture modular carpet tiles. Construction will begin in 2014.

According to a report from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, “The steady comeback of the floor covering industry in North Georgia continues to reflect the resurgence of the global economy,” said Governor Nathan Deal. “Companies such as Shaw Industries are moving aggressively to meet demand, and Georgia stands ready to equip them with the trained workforce and infrastructure network they need.”

Shaw Industries Group is headquartered in Dalton, GA and employs more than 15,000 people in the state. The company is the largest carpet manufacturer in the world with more than $4 billion in annual sales and 23,000 worldwide employees.
