The Georgia Department of Revenue reports that overall tax collections in November grew by $49 million, or 3.6% over November of 2012.
The state of Georgia collected almost $1.4 billion in tax revenue during November 2013. Individual income tax and sales tax revenues actually declined slightly in November. Meanwhile, corporate income taxes and motor fuel taxes increased.
The new vehicle title tax, which replaced vehicle sales taxes and property taxes, accounted for more than $70 million in tax revenue.
Year to date, Georgia’s tax revenue has increased 5.4% compared to the same time last year.
