There were few upsets last week, so there were no seismic shifts in the GPB Rankings.

In fact, the rankings for Class 7A, Class 5A and Class 3A did not change from top to bottom. All eight No. 1 ranked teams held their position.

The biggest fall came in Class 6A, where River Ridge, No. 5 last week, dropped out of the rankings after its 44-15 loss to Riverwood. In Class 4A, Perry dropped three spots to No. 8 after its 31-26 loss to Spalding.

“I just made a few changes this week,” said GPB’s Sam Crenshaw. “I thought Riverwood deserved to be ranked after their big win over River Ridge and I dropped Perry down to No. 9 on my ballot after their loss.”

There were only four teams that broke into the rankings this week: Riverwood at No. 10 in Class 6A; Spalding at No. 9 in Class 4A; Brookstone at No. 9 in Class A Private; and Wilcox County at No. 10 in Class A Public.
