There were no changes at the top of the GPB Top 10 football rankings this week, as each of the state’s No. 1 teams held their position with victories.

Carrollton (Class 6A), Milton (5A), Marist (4A), Sandy Creek (3A), Pierce County (2A), Toombs County (Class A Division I), Bowdon (Class A Division II) and Savannah Christian (Private) all continued to be ranked No. 1 in their respective classifications.

There were several new teams who entered the rankings: North Cobb at No. 10 in Class 6A, Rome at No. 10 in Class 5A; Douglass at No. 8 in Class 3A; Rockmart at No. 10 in Class 2A; Jenkins County at No. 9 and McIntosh County Academy at No. 10 in Class A Division II; and Aquinas at No. 10 in Private.

“After five weeks we’ve seen the best teams rise to the top,” said GPB’s Jon Nelson. “It will be interesting to see if these teams can hold on or if someone will knock them off. The second half of the season will be a lot of fun.”
