GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters.

Here are our nominees for the week of October 14, 2024.

 

Montel Hundley, Lowndes, DE, SR

A one-thousand-pound club member, Hundley is a 6'0 215 LBS senior defensive end for the Lowndes Vikings that has 22 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five sacks and 11 QB hurries on the season, according to Max Preps. He runs a 4.7 40-yard dash, benches 305, squats 425 and power cleans 300. He holds a 3.8 GPA and aspires to play football at the highest level.

Caden Waye, Ola, RB, SO

The 5'11 190 LBS sophomore running back for the Ola Mustangs finished his freshman year with 729 yards for 105 carries and four TDs, according to Max Preps. This earned him All-Team All-Region recognition and an offer from the University of Southern California after completing a camp at the university. This season, he's taken on the role as a two-way player, starting as both a running back and free safety. In a game against Locust Grove, Waye had five touchdowns, earning him Player of the Week. He's also notched two interceptions- one a pick six. He has seven TDs with 492 all-purpose yards, 18 tackles (seven solo, 11 assists).  A true scholar-athlete, Waye holds a 4.3 GPA and plays basketball and runs track in the off-season. Due to his exemplary work ethic and character, Waye was selected by the school's athletic director to serve as a sport's ambassador.

Armond Parker, Locust Grove, QB, JR

An impressive 6'0 175 LBS junior quarterback for the Locust Grove Wildcats, Parker has 1,843 passing yards with 17 TDs (five interceptions) and 338 rushing yards with two TDs on the season. In the spring, he also plays basketball for the Wildcats. He currently has an offer from Morehouse.

Decari Farley, Jonesboro, OLB, JR  

The 5’11 175 LBS junior linebacker for the Jonesboro Cardinals has accumulated 70 tackles and ten tackles for loss on the season so far. Farley currently has no offers and is looking for his first.

Hayden Tumminia, Milton, ILB/FB, SR

Tumminia is a 5'11 220 LBS senior inside linebacker and fullback for the Milton Eagles that holds the title of 'Team Tackle Leader' after accumulating 72 tackles through eight games. He's also notched five tackles for loss, two sacks and three forced fumbles. He hit a 20.24 MPH on catapult, runs a 4.78 40-yard dash and won Defensive Player of the Game twice this year. Tumminia was a member of the 2023 7A state championship team and is also known as a team leader. A multi-sport athlete, Tumminia is also a member of the Eagles wrestling team, where he qualified as a state placer. He holds a 3.9 GPA.

Cameron Irastorza, Dunwoody, RB, JR

Irastorza is a 5'10 195 LBS junior running back for the Dunwoody Wildcats. He runs a 4.72 40-yard dash, squats 365, deadlifts 445 and has a bench of 205. Irastorza shows his versatility on the field with his ability to play as a full back and tight end for the Wildcats as well. In the off season, he runs track to stay in shape. He hopes to garner offers and play at the next level.

Matthew Baer, Denmark, QB, JR 

A 6'3 210 LBS junior dual-threat varsity quarterback for the Denmark Danes, Baer, a lefty QB, has thrown for over 1,400 yards with 12 TDs and has rushed for 100 yards with two rushing TDs, in just seven games. Baer dedicates 7 days a week to his #1 love, football, by doing speed and agility tests, QB training and weightlifting.

Here are a few words from Denmark Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach, Patrick Jones : "Matthew is a great leader for us. We trust him to lead our team when he steps out on the field. He checks all the boxes when it comes to being a leader but most importantly, he is unselfish. Matthew is a natural born leader on the field and in the classroom, representing our program well. "

Baer holds a 3.9 GPA. He aspires to play football in college, while studying finance and eventually get his law degree.
