Hey, Did You Know? Buford-GAC Edition

Buford High School was established in 1948 and is home to the Wolves. This school was voted one of America’s Best High Schools in 2010 by Newsweek Magazine, so obviously academics in a top priority on this beautiful campus. This school offers its students the chance to be a part of the school’s amazing Fine Arts program, in which students have the ability to excel in numerous ensembles such as jazz band, musical theatre, visual arts and drama tech. However, for those students who enjoy sweating it out on the field or court, Buford also offers their students many different sports. The Buford athletics department consists of basketball, baseball, football, soccer, cheerleading, lacrosse, track and field and others.
So… Hey, Did You Know… that Buford High School was selected as one of 23 high schools in the state of Georgia to receive the Single Statewide Accountability Silver Award in 2009 for its outstanding student achievements.
Greater Atlanta Christian Schools, also known as GAC, is located in Norcross. The school was established in 1961 and is home to the Spartans. Being the second largest private high school in the state of Georgia, GAC opens its doors up to over 1850 students daily. The school continuously instills in each and every student that: “The mission of Greater Atlanta Christian School is to help each student grow as Jesus did in wisdom, in Stature and in favor with God and man.” This amazing school has so many organizations that allow students to excel in whichever area best fits their skills. Students can participant in football, competitive cheerleading, swim team, boys and girls basketball, and so much more!
With so many academic and athletic organizations that GAC offers their students, its no wonder that since 2000, GAC’s students have earned over 38 state championships, 15 in athletics and 23 in academics.
So… Hey, Did You Know… that GAC is the only school in Georgia that has been named an APPLE Distinguished School in 2010-2011. This award provides each student grades 7th-12th a Macbook notebook to help enhance their learning
