Are you a PBS Nerd? Last week, we asked people to prove it by entering our PBS Nerd Photo Contest. The prize? A PBS Nerd t-shirt.

In order to qualify, they had to meet us at Regal Atlantic Station Theatres during the opening weekend of “Star Trek: Beyond”, pose for a photo in our PBS Nerd cut out and post it in our entry form.

The results were smashing and impressive. Nerds of all shapes, sizes and ages stopped at our table to pose with the cut out and show how much they love PBS and us.

From all of the entries, we choose three winners at random. Each of them won a shirt. They were: Maya Garner, Bob Richardson and Mikenzie Lewis.

PBS Nerd Stories

Several people were so enthusiastic about their love for public television that they shared their photos and stories with us on Facebook.

For example, Minal Bhagat Patel, told us she and her autistic child could not make it without “Thomas the Train”, “Arthur” and “Clifford”.

Taylor Chapman, meanwhile said she was excited to be surrounded by two things she geeks out about: “Star Trek” and PBS. She gladly snapped a photo, then coaxed her husband to take one too.

Matthew Myers encouraged his friend to take a picture alongside the infamous members of the “Suicide Squad”. We bet when they’re not robbing banks and battling Batman, the Suicide Squad watches”Masterpiece Theatre”, Matthew!
