Buford faces Lovett at home, who defeated the Wolves 28-21 last season. Prior to that loss, Buford had won five straight meetings, including a 50-0 win for the state championship in 2007. The Longhorns had been ranked as high as sixth twice before, once in 2006 and last week before the victory over East Paulding. … Former Washington-Wilkes coach Charlie Davison will be honored tonight at The Field at Tiger Stadium. He coached the Tigers from 1952-1970. The stadium will be named after Davison, who also coached Darlington from 1971-1984. After 33 seasons as a head coach, Davidson won 239 games. … Flowery Branch has won at least 10 games year since 2005 with the exception of 2007 when they won nine. Falcon QB Austin Brown, a transfer from Habersham Central, leads the northeast Georgia area in passing with 886 yards. Flowery Branch is averaging nearly 40 points per game thru the first four games. … Score 44 member Quan Bray of Troup had 126 yards rushing on nine carries and score two touchdowns in a win over Columbus on Thursday. The Tigers had nearly 400 yards total offense against Columbus. … Valdosta plays Robert E. Lee of Montgomery for the third time. The Wildcats are 2-0 in those games. In the record-setting 64-62 win over Brunswick Saturday, there were a total of 1,165 total yards on offense.
