Lifeline Animal Project Celebrates Year of Improving FCAS with Event

It’s been a year since the Lifeline Animal Project took over Fulton County Animal Services. They are marking the anniversary of their successful take over by hosting an open house this weekend at FCAS that will include free dog and cat adoptions, spaying and neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.

The event takes place Saturday, March 22 at the Fulton County shelter from 11 a.m. -6 p.m at 860 Marietta Blvd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

Since taking the reigns of Fulton County Animal Services, the nonprofit animal welfare group has caused good things to happen:

• Euthanasia rates have been reduced, reaching a record low 25.8 percent in December.
• They facilitated the adoption and release of more than 5,400 cats and dogs.
• They added a full-time animal support specialist to counsel struggling owners from surrendering their pets.

They’ve also made improvements to the facility. Lifeline also manages Dekalb County Animals Services too.
